Melanie D. Krummel, GG, FGA, CSM, started her education at the University of Delaware studying business administration. While working at the revered J.E. Caldwell Jewelers of Philadelphia, she discovered her true passion for jewelry and jewelry appraising. Completely changing her career direction, she moved to Santa Monica, California, where she earned her Graduate Gemology degree from the Gemological Institute of America. After graduation, Melanie returned home to Maryland and opened her appraisal office and laboratory. From there she went on to earn certifications with the National Association of Jewelry Appraisers and the Accredited Gemological Association. Melanie has also earned the highly respected Fellowship from the Gemmological Association of Great Britain, the oldest gemology school in the world. She has been serving Maryland, Washington DC and Delaware for twenty-five years.
